With age comes wisdom… and some aches.

Our bodies were made to move. But sometimes it can feel like they were made not to!

Creaky knees, achy backs, hip replacements, stiff shoulders… This can feel frustrating and discouraging when we think about starting a movement practice.

It’s common to feel like ‘what’s the point'?’.

It’s normal to want to throw in the towel.

You are not alone in feeling like it’s too late to create change.

But what if you shake things up and start believing that you are capable of anything?

What if moving MORE, not LESS, is the antidote to many of your ailments?

Movement for Life is designed to make daily tasks easier. Physical confidence is something you are sure to gain when you commit to this well structured and approachable movement practice.

And I am here to guide you.

Hi! I’m Hedy, your teacher…

I am the creator of Movement for Life, an online movement program for older adults… and it all started with my very own dad.

Back in 2015 I noticed he was experiencing some new aches and pains. I had been studying all sorts of movement methods that could potentially help him. He agreed to meet with me once a week for a private class… and that was the beginning of a whole new chapter.

As I watched his physical tension ease and his balance and posture improve I realized that the techniques that I was teaching him were not known to many older adults.

This is when I decided to focus all my attention and efforts on the older adult population. It is my passion to empower you with confidence and strength to live the life you want to live.

We currently are a thriving community of over 60 members and growing!

Not only do we meet for online classes several times a week but we also enjoy online group chats and in-person lunches and walks together.

It is an honor and a pleasure to serve this wonderful and inspiring community!

Ready to try a class?

Every month I host a FREE Community Class- and the next one is coming up!

You are extraordinary! Your classes are excellent. I am never bored, which is saying a lot, and before I know it, 45 minutes has gone by and we’re getting on the floor!

Your class has been a great help to me. Not only does it give me strength—it gives me joy. You spread joy.

In each Movement for Life class you will be guided through a array of exercises and techniques that are designed to:

  • Build full body strength;

  • Lubricate your joints;

  • Challenge and improve your balance;

  • Relieve painful tension;

  • Uplift your posture;

  • And bring calm to your nervous system.

With the older adult in mind, I have hand picked the methods, exercises and techniques that will help you live your life with more independence and confidence.

The best part: you do not need to have ANY previous exercise experience to join!

There are folks who have never exercised in their lives until they were in their 70’s who are now committed members.

There are people who used to be athletes and dancers who are just coming back into their bodies in their 80’s.

Some members are recovering from injuries or surgeries and have found a safe space to move in.

Many have arthritis and have learned that moving mindfully and building strength has helped them enormously!

So wherever you are, it’s the perfect place to start.

Ready to smash to the negative stereotypes that society has put on you?

I had been taking movement classes with Hedy before the pandemic began and they were wonderful. However, during the pandemic, Hedy and her wonderful and creative teaching were true life savers. Although all the zoom classes were virtual, Hedy created a true community for all of the participants. We felt part of something both physically and mentally healing.

With Hedy, each class is different-there is variety and creativity. Regardless of the exercises, by the end of the class I feel invigorated and put in a good mood for the rest of the day. I encourage everyone- regardless of age- to join this wonderful movement community.
